Formal introductions to language conventions and structural features of English
Exploration and development of different language features, including vocabulary and linguistic considerations
A variety of written and spoken tasks using and developing English in different ways
Sharing and building understanding of the linguistic characteristics of English

Active participation in teaching, written task, reading material, group work activities, individual reflection, oral presentation

Assessment details

Active participation in course meetings and completion of the learning assignment/s

Criteria for grades will be presented/agreed during the course.

Learning outcomes

Upon completing of the course the student will be able to
• Produce written and spoken texts according to different genres
• Use process writing techniques
• Employ different approaches to feedback
• Explain basic linguistic features and structures of English
• Independently develop their own foreign or additional language skills
