Current issues, challenges and contemporary management practices in sport and leisure, across a broad range of providers, particularly in private sector.
Completion methods
Lectures 20 hours, writing assignments
Assessment details
Compulsory attendance at 80% of the lectures. Active participation in lectures 20%, case study writing assignments 80%.
Learning outcomes
On successful completion of this course, student is able to
- identify current issues and contemporary management practices in sport and leisure
- understand and evaluate theories, concepts, frameworks, and methods essential to the functioning and management of sport, leisure and professional market
- understand the objectives, values, styles and outcomes in management contexts in different international contexts
- apply knowledge, concepts and methodological skills to a variety of sport management issues, problems and interactions
