Content

To familiarise the students with the skills of orienteering and hiking:
• reading a map, using a compass, measuring distances, choosing a route, different scales of maps, public right of access and duties, planning and realisation of a hiking trip

Completion methods

Practical lessons (20 h), including exercises with an orienteering map and short hiking trips in nature.

Assessment details

Presence in all lessons is required for completing the course. The student will be assessed on the basis of active participation, group behaviour and positive attitude towards the subject to be taught, the teacher and other course participants during the lessons.

Learning outcomes

The student is familiar with the skills of orienteering and hiking: reading a map, using a compass, measuring distances, choosing a route, different scales of maps, public right of access and duties, planning and realization of a hiking trip.
