Content

Course concentrates on basics of ESI-TOF mass spectrometry and compound characterization using mass spectrometric analysis. Special focus is on practical execution of analysis. Course consists of lectures, laboratory exercises, pre-exercises, and reports. Lectures will be held in english if one of the participants is english speaking.

For to pass the course student must return pre-exercises, participate in review of pre-exercises, participate lab practise and return accepted report in deadline.

Passed grade: Student can use methods covered on course, masters safe working practises in ESI-MS laboratory and is able to report the analysis result using generally accepted practices.

Learning outcomes

After the course, student is familiar with safe and appropriate work practises in ESI-MS laboratory. Student understands basics on analysis planning, execution and result reporting.

Passed grade from course Basic Principles in Mass Spectrometry (KEMS534) or equivalent knowledge.
