Description

Content

The laboratory experiments comprise organic synthesis according to instructions. The student gets acquainted with the most common organic chemistry practices and analysis methods (IR, NMR and GC).
Introduction to Organic Chemistry Laboratory course (includes lectures, laboratory training) and passed exam (valid only 2 months) is obligatory before one can start laboratory practice. The practice includes independent laboratory experiments in the organic chemistry laboratory (O305). Registration to the course and laboratory practice in Korppi.

Learning outcomes

Introduction to Organic Chemistry Laboratory course will give information how to work safely in laboratory of organic chemistry. At the practical laboratory experiments the student will learn how to use basic instruments of the organic chemistry. The aim of the course is to combine the theory and practice of the organic chemistry.

Additional information

Kaikkien harjoitustöiden opintopisteissä on huomioitu töihin liittyvät ennakkovalmistelut (työohjeeseen tutustuminen ja töihin liittyvät kirjallisuushaut), käytännön työskentely laboratoriossa sekä työselostuksen kirjoittaminen.
