Content

This course focuses on structures and processes of internal and external communication of organizations in a digital world. It discusses approaches to the analysis of organizational communication, examines how communication in different organizational settings is organized, analyzes constructions of difference at the workplace and how multilingualism and diversity can be managed.

Assessment details

Passing the course requires completion of all required assignments in line with stated learning outcomes. An 80 % attendance requirement is applied.

Learning outcomes

On completion of this course, the student will be able to
- describe structures and processes of communication and interaction in organizations and between organizations and their stakeholders
- critically evaluate existing theories of and approaches to organizational communication
- apply instruments of linguistics, semiotics, and communication studies to describe, analyze and criticize structures and processes of communication in different, also multilingual and multicultural organizational settings.
