The course core content consists of the definition of Sustainable Water Supply and Sanitation (Improved supply and sanitation), Access to water supply and sanitation in different countries, History of sanitation, Sanitation information resources, Health and safety related to water & sanitation, Nutrient recovery and reuse, Socio-economic, cultural and behavioral issues in sanitation movement, and Sanitation Technologies, SDG2030.

Learning outcomes

The focus of the course is sustainable water access and sanitation as a cross-cutting issue of the Sustainable Developmental Goals 2030. What is the coverage of the accesss to safe water supply and sanitation in low and middle-income countries, which are the current practices and technologies in use and how are the most vulnerable people as well as ecological sustainability taken into account? In addition, the themes of safety, technical feasibility, socio-economic aspects and ecological sustainability of alternative, non-traditional sanitation are covered during the course. One of the course aims is to provide a channel for water and sanitation experts and future professionals in different countries to exchange ideas and information.
