Description

Content

The aim of this course is that students gain both insights into and practical tools for communicating as a teacher. During the first half of the course, we will overview and discuss various communication contexts and skills. During the second half of the course, students will give their own practice teaching sessions.

Completion methods

Class discussion, presentations and practice activities, followed by students' own teaching sessions.

Open University: contact teaching, web-based tasks, learning assignments, an exam or a combination of these (methods of study will be specified in the annual teaching programme before the start of each academic year).

Assessment details

Active participation in class (83% attendance) and the student's own teaching session (which is both teacher and peer assessed).

Open University: Active participation (100% attendance usually required). Learning assignments or an exam.
