Description

Content

Introduction to population ecology modelling and analysis.

Completion methods

Lectures and computer practice.

Learning outcomes

After completing the course, the students:
- understands how growth and viability of populations depend on factors such as stochasticity, density-dependence, age- and stage structure
- can write computer simulations in Matlab to study these effects.
- knows the assumptions and limitations of such models, and be able to interpret them in a context of management and conservation
