Global sustainability challenges. Concept of sustainable development. Concepts of corporate social responsibility and corporate sustainability. Threats and business possibilities related to sustainability. Sustainability practices in business.
Completion methods
JSBE: Contact teaching course, autumn semester, 1st period. The study methods of the contact teaching course are specified in the study program annually.
Open University: Contact teaching course (study methods will be announced in the annual study programme) or online course (study methods will be announced in the annual study programme) or book exam or essay
Assessment details
Accepted completion of the designated assignments. The assessment criteria of the course is specified in the study program annually.
Learning outcomes
- identify the principles of sustainable development and their connection to corporate social responsibility (CSR);
- explain the importance of sustainability/CSR in the academic and managerial context;
- analyse, evaluate and compare corporate approaches to environmental and social issues;
- produce a group essay and group presentation on the CR issues of a chosen corporation based on scientific reporting guidelines.
