This course provides an introduction to corpus linguistics, or the study of language using software to analyze databases of text.
Suoritustavat
Lectures based on course material, participation in classroom work, analyzing corpora individually and in groups.
Arviointiperusteet
Final research paper.

After completing the course, students will know:
o the basic methods of corpus linguistics
o some of the most popular corpus linguistics software and publicly available corpora
o the fields in which corpus linguistics is used and where students can apply corpus linguistics in their studies and working life
