Physical Activity Epidemiology; Physical activity recommendations from various national agencies and professional organizations; The role of theory in understanding physical activity and health behaviour; Programmes and interventions; Behaviour change techniques; Setting based health promotion approach; Information on how technology, including accelerometers, and Web-based intervention strategies can be used in changing physical activity behaviour.

On successful completion of this course, student is able to:
- understand the basics of PA and health promotion
- synthesize different motivational strategies according to the target population.
- evaluate basic physical activity programmes and interventions.
- evaluate the most often used theories that relate to the promotion of physical activity and chose the most appropriate for his/her purposes.
- list the Physical activity recommendations from various national agencies and professional organizations.
- evaluate different measures of physical activity behaviour according to the aim of their program/intervention.
