Content

Familiarizing with life, society, language and culture in France or in other French-speaking country during the period of language practice.

Completion methods

Major students: studying one month on a French language course in a French-speaking country or at least a two-month residence in a French-speaking country.
Minor students: studying three weeks on a French language course in a French-speaking country or at least 1,5 month residence in a French-speaking country.

Studying during one term as Erasmus exchange student in a university of a French-speaking country.

Assessment details

Certificate of studies or certificate of work.

Learning outcomes

In language practice the students will develop their oral and written skills in French and familiarize with life, society and culture in France or in other French-speaking country.
After having completed the language practice the students have deepened their orals skills in French and their knowledge in the culture of a French-speaking country.
The students have developed their intercultural competences by studying or by working in a French-speaking country.

In language practice in addition to exercise substantial skills, exercising in following general professional readiness in working life is common:
- oral communication skills

- ability to make observations of cultural differences in an open and constructive way
- flexibility and adaptability
- ability to act in other culture

Description of prerequisites

Recommendation: the language practice should be completed during the 2nd or the 3rd year of studies.
