Basic concepts and theories in language education,
exploring different genres and registers of language as well as different features of the English language,
using English in different contexts and activities,
designing and using English with younger learners
Completion methods
Active participation in teaching, written task, reading material, group work activities, individual reflection
Assessment details
Active participation in course meetings and completion of the learning assignment/s.
Criteria for grades will be presented/agreed during the course.
Learning outcomes
Upon completing of the course the student will be able to
• Understand the different forms of language that can be used to develop children’s language skills
• Use and critically reflect on a variety of methods and approaches when working with children to develop their language
• Critically reflect on their own use of and relationship with English as a foreign or additional language
• Use sound-based approaches to develop language skills
