Description

Content

Thermodynamics, phase changes, electrochemistry, computational chemistry, molecular spectroscopy, molecular mobility, and reaction kinetics. Writing appropriate reports is essential for passing the course.

Completion methods

The course has mandatory introduction lecture and a practical assignment prior to laboratory exercises. Every laboratory session begins with an oral examination. Reports are returned for inspection in PDF-form within two weeks from the measurement date.

Assessment details

The reports are assessed numerically for feedback purposes.

The course is passed, when all eight reports are accepted.

Learning outcomes

Student has skills to do physical chemistry experiments safely and independently by following instructions, can interpret experimental results and present the results in graphical form, has skills to do error analysis of experimental results, can write a scientific report, can compare experimental results with literature and knows how to use references, understands the connections between theory and the experimental results.
