Content

Residence of at least two months in an English-speaking country or countries. The residence should take place during the current studies. However, residence that lasted for at least two months and that took place no more than two years prior to the start of studying English at the University of Jyväskylä may also be accepted.

A written report of five pages in English, to be sent to the Education Coordinator by email within two months of arrival. Grading:

After completing the course students will have:

- experience of everyday life and culture of an English-speaking country
- better communication skills in English
- experience of working in a multicultural context

Additional information

Instructions: The idea is for you to report on your exchange or your work experience. In the main body of your report you should

- tell where the student exchange or work took place
- say why you decided to apply for a student exchange or a job
- describe your studies/work and how they benefited your studies in Finland
- discuss the cultural differences that you experienced
- consider your experiences in relation to your career prospects and employment in the future
