Content

The course is targeted at students wishing to improve their oral communication skills in a variety of situations, with the emphasis on the presentation of ideas and arguments in group communication.

Completion methods

Group discussions and short presentations by students.

Assessment details

Continuous assessment based on regular attendance and class participation.

Learning outcomes

After completing the course students will be able to
o take part in group discussions, responding to others and presenting and argue their own ideas on a variety of topics
o give an effective short presentation based on individual study on a given topic.

Additional information

All students wishing to improve their oral communication skills in a variety of situations, with the emphasis on the presentation of ideas and arguments in group communication.
100% attendance is required. Students may be absent from no more than two classes for reasons beyond their control (e.g. illness or injury) on condition that they notify the instructor and explain the reason for the absence. In such cases, no make-up work is required. Three absences will result in having to repeat the course.
