The aim of this corse is to provide solid conceptual foundation and basic technical skills (using R) for the use of statistical modelling in ecological and evolutionary research. The course does not seek to be exhaustive of all techniques nor intensive in any given one. It covers both frequentist and bayesian approaches. Course aimed for Masters (and PhD) students.
Completion methods
Lectures, practicals, homework and discussion sessions.Considerable workload outside the class with weekly homework assignments (group or individual) and a final project.
Assessment details
A pass/fail course where a pass requires an average grade 3 (combines homeworks, exam and individual project). Grading scheme incorporates student progress in learning (cf. previous/current knowledge) and participation.
