Description
Content
Course on varying groups of organisms, which in turn deepens students’ knowledge on the structure, evolution and ecology of certain taxonomic group. Identification of samples is practiced both in the laboratory and in the field. The use of identification keys is also practiced. More detailed information on the content of each course session is given in the syllabus. The courses are organized on invertebrates, vertebrates, vascular plants, mosses, mushrooms and polypores.

Learning outcomes
After completing the course the student:
- is able to explain basics of the classification of the studied groups of organisms and is able to identify the sample specimens to necessary levels
- can use the identification keys of main groups of organisms, masters identification work and knows how to handle the samples
- recognize the morphological characteristics used in the identification of the organisms
- is able to describe the main features of the biology and ecology of studied organisms
