Content

The basic knowledge of neurobiological mechanisms of selected neurological/psychiatric disorders 1) dementia, 2) Parkison’s disease, 3) multiple sclerosis, 4) seizures, 5) cerebrovascular diseases 6) neurotoxicology of alcohol and cannabis.

15 lectures and independent work.

Assessment details

Independent work and presentation in pairs or essay exam.

Learning outcomes

The main focus of the course is in the genetical, biochemical and neuropharmacological background of pathological processes in the following conditions. After the course students should be able to understand the prevailing hypotheses of the causes of these diseases but, also, to understand the main principles of treatment(s) and diagnosis of these conditions.
