Content
Critical evaluation of the state of the environment in Finland or the whole world including: prerequisites of sustainable development, renewable and non-renewable energy and natural resources, climate change, loss of biodiversity, development of communities and urbanisation, contamination of the environment and harmful substances, threats to human and nature health, waste management, and environmental protection policies.

Learning outcomes
Student understands the basic laws of nature as well as human - environment interactions. Student develops her/his critical thinking skills, abilities working in a group, and learns ways for solving environmental problems.
Description of prerequisites
Attended BENP1001, BENP1002 and BENP1004 before participating in the exercises of this course.
